Footnote (distributed in the name Footnote) is an Israeli drama film directed by Joseph Cedar and starring Lior Ashkenazi and Shlomo Raba. The film is about a father and son, both professors in the Department of Talmud at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The father is a man of the old methodology, frustrated because the study important in his life, he worked for decades, has become redundant due to the discovery of another researcher. Son is a celebrity and a hero establishment - faithfully representing the new research methods, perceived as superficial father's eyes. The film won Best Screenplay (Prix du scénario) at Cannes in 2011, where the premiere was presented on May 14, 2011, and nine in 2011 Ophir Awards categories: feature film, director, screenplay, actor, supporting actor, screenplay, editing, artistic design and sound [1]. The film was one of five finalists winning the Oscar for best foreign film for 2011. [2]
